Survey The Presence of Protozoa on External Body of Fly at The Traditional Market of Damar and Rasamala Banyumanik Semarang City

Flies are insects that can fly and have limbs that allow them to carry disease pathogens. One of the disease pathogens that can be carried by flies is protozoa. Traditional markets are one of the favorite places for flies, especially to lay their eggs. This study aims to identify the species of flies and protozoa present in the outer body of flies in Damar Market and Rasamala Market. This research is a research with descriptive observational design. Data was collected by catching flies in the market and identifying flies and protozoa in the laboratory. The number of flies caught was 503 consisting of 74.15% Musca domestica and 25.85% Chrysomya megacephala. The Protooa species found were Entamoeba histolytica, Escherichia coli, Giardia lamblia, Acanthamoeba spp., Balantidium coli and Chilomastix mesnili
